Squeak Smith Receives Ray Mortensen Award

I just received this note from Denver

Wanted to share a special moment that occurred today at the 2004 National Conservation Awards luncheon here in Denver. Our own Squeak Smith received the Ray Mortensen Award for Volunteer Leadership. This award is TU's highest individual honor and I think went to a most deserving individual.

Squeak, thanks for all you've done for both TU and NCTU.

NCTU "Back the Brookie" Online Presentation

Your Back the Brookie Coordinator has finally finished an online presentation (complete with sound) outlining the campaign and its various volunteer positions. This presentation is available by clicking on the links below. It’s about 20 minutes long. There is no charge for listening, so…I’d like you to pass the links around as far and wide as you possibly can. I intend to use this presentation as a tool for recruiting volunteers to the campaign. It’s light years ahead of (and more cost efficient than) me traveling by buggy to talk to groups and recruit in person. As much as I enjoy that (and will continue to do it), we can also use this means to gather support and participants as well.

Please send to your Chapters’ leadership. Ask them to make available on their website a link to these links and/or publish them in their newsletters, distribute via listservs, etc. Also, feel free to share with anyone you feel may be interested.

NCTU's Back the Brookie campaign now has an online presentation. You can view the presentation in two formats with the links below. To login, type your name and then click "Register".

"Learn more about volunteer opportunities for the Back the Brookie Campaign".

I’m also looking for feedback on the presentation as well. I’ll update it, as things move along with the campaign.

Thank you. I appreciate all you do for TU and I’m extremely excited to be working with you. Back the Brookie is a winner, and so are you!
