A Little About TRTU
Table Rock Trout Unlimited Chapter was formed in
the fall of 1973 because of concerns surrounding the widening and
repaving of Highway 181. The major concerns were the two blue ribbon
trout streams, Steeles Creek and Upper Creek, and what effects the
construction would have on these streams. Many dollars were spent on
silt barriers due to TRTU’s efforts.
There have been many projects, some large and
some small, that TRTU has been involved in. Stream restorations, the
kiosk at Bridgewater, the Muddy Creek project, and Kids Fishing Day are
some examples of the Chapter’s work. Our latest project is working with
the State Council to determine if there is or can be a sustainable
population of Brook Trout in the South Mountain State Park.
Our mission is to protect, monitor, and improve
the environments and waters we love and enjoy.
Clean, cold, fishable water is TU’s motto. We
invite everyone who enjoys our rivers and streams to join us at our
monthly meetings. You need not be a member to attend meetings but may be
inclined to join our eclectic group after a visit or two.

Table Rock Trout Unlimited meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month unless otherwise noted on the Calendar page.
