Guys,  Bo Cash brought up the issue of new WRC fishing regs changes on S Toe a couple weeks ago....I had NCTU ex comm call this week and brought up the issue there,  NCTU position on S Toe proposal is: 'original designation was supposedly based on science, new proposal is 'likely' based on public input/desire (BL mtn campground campers), we support science based management, therefore, until the commission shows us the science, keep the reg the same'...now those are not the exact words, use your own and make comments at the hearings and/or online.  It would be worth going to the website and looking at all the new dregs, there are 34 changes listed for fishing and 24 are related to trout....most are re-designation of sections of streams either lost due to privatization or gained...you can comment online as long as you have a fishing license, you'll need your registration # off your license to comment.  Go to www.ncwildlife.org , comment period will be open until 1 Feb ,2009.   As for local hearing, it's scheduled for Morganton, Comma, Jan 13, 7pm.  There are 9 meetings around the state, they're listed on the website.  Feel free to pass this info along to anyone interested!!
